Teeth problems occur with everyone and people need to find quick solutions for them. there are different problems that can occur and one common problem is when your teeth start to get yellow and you need to get them whitened. There are different whitening treatments that are available that will help you to increase the shine of your teeth. But the main problem arises when you have to check and manage the sensitivity of the teeth after the whitening process is complete. We will now take you through some of the ways in which you can manage teeth sensitivity after the whitening process.
Build Up Resistance
No matter what orthodontic problem you have, once you get it cured you have to take extra precaution for it. Same is the case with whitening where you need to manage sensitivity. The first and foremost thing to do is to start building up resistance before you go for the whitening treatment. This can be done by brushing your teeth with any gel or toothpaste. This process can be done a week before you start your whitening treatment. Doing it a week before will help to build up strong resistance against sensitivity.
After Whitening Care
Once the whitening process is over, then you need to start brushing your teeth with a specific gel or toothpaste only. You cannot use multiple kinds of toothpaste or gel to brush your teeth for 3-4 days. It takes about 48 hours for sensitivity to last thus during this time only one gel or toothpaste should be used which is the one that is prescribed by your dentist. Once the 48 hours time limit is finished, then you can opt for your own toothpaste that you have been using. But before that, it is advised to use only 1 type of toothpaste.
When you are brushing teeth, you can be hard on your teeth and this is where things can go wrong. In order to manage sensitivity after whitening treatment, you need to brush your teeth very gently. The gentler you use your brush the better it will be for the health of your teeth. It is also advised that one should not be brushing teeth with the use of lukewarm water rather than using cold water. The use of lukewarm water along with a soft bristled brush will help you to remove sensitivity from your teeth.
Drinks are already termed bad for the health of your teeth and one should be avoiding them if they want to have white teeth. But even if you are an avid drinker of tea or coffee, even then you will have to part ways with these drinks for two days at least after going through the whitening process. Drinking tea or coffee after whitening treatment can cause stain and all the process will be of no use if there is any stain on your teeth. One temporary solution for this is to drink with the help of straw so that your teeth are bypassed in this way.
