The Intra-state bus service will be restored on 20th May. Local buses will start in the non-containment zone in Punjab in a phased manner, says Punjab chief minister. Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday directed that the transport department will draft all the protocols of bus operating procedures so that the resumption of local bus movement can be done. But here it should be noted that interstate by service will not start till 31st May. As the world is suffering from the danger of the coronavirus so taking any step regarding transportation and bus services is not an easy decision. As the danger of the spread of corona as a result of people coming together so the process will start with the real test, the chief minister of Punjab has directed all the departments to ensure close monitoring and strict adherence to all the protocols that have been decided by different departments to ensure the stoppage of the coronavirus. The captain has also asked the police department to follow all the protocols such as social distancing and all other COVID 19 prevention protocols like no passenger can travel in a bus without wearing a mask over the face.
In a video conference, Punjab CM has reviewed the situation as well as he instructed the transport department to put in place stringent rules and regulations so that passengers can be travel on point to point within the state without the spread of the coronavirus. Public bus service in Punjab will start again from 22nd May in the noncontainment zone. The transport minister Razia Sultana said that the COVID 19 lockdown has entered its 4th phase and it the right time that we should start bus services within the state in a limited manner. The curfew restrictions in Punjab were lifted on Monday while the lockdown has been imposed in the state till 31st May. While in some states to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus further curfew restrictions have been imposed. The nationwide lockdown has been started since 25th march and it has reached its 4th phase with a few reliefs that are different from area to area.
It has been cleared that inter-state movement will be allowed on special and Shramik trains till 31st May at least.
